Egg Donor's Get Compensation according to ASRM guidelines

We recognize that donating eggs takes time and effort on your part. The World Egg Bank compensates you $3,500 - $5,000 US for your role in the egg donation process. The actual amount depends on the state where you live. We issue a check to you on the day of egg retrieval once the prcedure has been completed.

You aren't responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses as an egg donor. This means that all fees and medical costs related to your egg donation are paid by the woman receiving your eggs, or The World Egg Bank. We’ll also cover any long distance travel costs. You are responsible only for transporting yourself to and from local doctor's appointments.

Fresh Egg Donation

Fresh Egg Donation
Fresh Egg Donation is historically how donor eggs have been used, and until 2005 was the only option available. Fresh Egg Donation is still the method most commonly used, as many agencies lack egg freezing technology and expertise.
In the Fresh Egg Donation process, your menstrual cycle is matched to the recipient’s cycle. Later, at the appropriate time, you travel to the recipient’s location to complete the donation. Fertilization is attempted immediately.
Fresh Egg Donation creates some logistical challenges. First, your cycle must match the recipient’s cycle. This is accomplished with traditional birth control methods but can sometimes be unpredictable. Second, the donor must be prepared to travel to the recipient doctor's location at the exact right time. This puts the entire process at the mercy of airlines, weather, and the other vagaries of long distance travel. Third, if for whatever reason fertilization does not occur, the entire process must be repeated, either with the same donor or a different one.

Want to become an Egg Donor?

What It Takes to Donate Your Eggs
Receiving donor eggs is an expensive and emotional process for the recipient. For this reason, we screen all egg donors to meet certain qualifications.
You Must be Committed to the Process
Most importantly, you must be dependable and committed to following through with the protocol. The egg donation process involves planning, expense, effort, and emotional investment. If for any reason you do not meet or are unwilling to meet the requirements below, please do not continue with this process.
There may be financial charges you will be legally responsible for if you voluntarily choose to prematurely withdraw once you have been selected and begin the medical screening process.
We accept donors from across the USA and Canada. You can choose to undergo the screening process locally in the state you reside in, or you can choose to travel for a 3- to 10-day period to where the recipient's doctor is located. You receive a higher fee to travel, you are accompanied by a representative from The World Egg Bank, and all travel and accommodation costs are paid for by The World Egg Bank.
You must be 18 – 30 years old.
You must be willing to participate in one meeting with a psychologist.

Success Rate Data on Cryopreservation

The World Egg Bank has used a slow freezing process since 2004 for egg freezing and thawing. This method provided an overall egg survival rate post thaw of about 60%. While we have achieved pregnancies and deliveries using this method, we have recently converted to using vitrification for egg freezing.

Vitrification is a very rapid way of freezing eggs, which helps avoid damage during the freezing and thawing process. Studies have shown higher survival and pregnancy rates using this method. In donor egg cycles, two recent studies show the industry experience with vitrification of donor eggs yield pregnancy rates equivalent to fresh donor egg cycle pregnancy rates.

The World Egg Bank has been using vitrification to freeze all of our donor eggs since the summer of 2008. The thaw rate for vitrification is generally between 80 and 90% with a fertilization rate between 70 – 80%.

Not Just An Egg Donor Business

Hi again, we are not just an egg donor business, we were the brain child of our founder Diana Thomas after she experienced many years of infertility treatments that resulted in the realization that she needed an egg donor. At that time, the options were limited and there was little help for couples seeking the assistance of an egg donor so Diana was forced to advertise, interview, set up all the legal, financial and medical for both herself and her donor. Although the results were well worth the effort as she has three wonderful children, it opened her eyes to the need for a centralized location that couples can go to for assistance in their quest to have a child with an egg donor's help. We pride ourselves on the personal care we give to each potential recipient that contacts us and our experience in cycle coordination.

More to come.....

Egg donor discount Program

We have an awesome discount program for potential recipients running right now. It can lock them in for a discount of up to 25% off our agency fee or 15% for frozen donor eggs. All that needs to be done is a non-refundable discount before the end of December to lock in the discount. It can save a good sum of money at a time when the economy is still in recovery and there are not a lot of options for saving money in the infertility field. I would be happy to help anyone out there interested in our program. 602-678-1906 (Penny)
